An Unexpected Surprise In A Medical Billing Services Application

Having worked in the same physician’s office for 42 years, I have grown quite accustomed to the harrowing experience of change.  Every time some new office procedure comes along, the entire office is in uproar and disarray for weeks.  The youngsters that I work with are such babies when it comes to learning anything new despite the fact that it usually makes our patient’s information more secure or their lives a little better in some small way.  Most of the time, however, it makes our jobs much more difficult.  You should have seen the chaos when we installed our first computers.

Flabbergasted In A Good Way

There has been a change recently though that has me completely flabbergasted.  I am not at a loss because it is difficult, because it adds more work, or even that it is technical.  I am aghast because it is so darn easy to learn, use, and it eliminates 90% of the work that I used to struggle to do so that I could spend time with the patients that are so dear to me.  The new medical billing services software that we installed on our computers has made my life a living joy.  I thought it would be technical and difficult to learn because it is supposed to be the best medical billing services California has ever produced.  I could not have been more mistaken.  If I can learn it… anyone can.

Big Things in Small Packages

They call it electronic medical billing services.  It came in a small envelope no bigger than a subject notebook.  This included a single disc and a small instruction guide.  That was all of the training that I needed to master this powerful and yet easy to use program.  It is one of many national medical billing services that we had looked at the previous week while trying to decide which one would work the best.  I did not comprehend at that time how easy it would be, so when it was time to put them to a vote, I chose ours because of the pretty maroon background.  Maroon is my favorite color.

A Surprise Call

Most medical billing companies, I am told, would ship the disc and after that, it would be like pulling teeth trying to get anyone at that company to help.  This was not the case.  In fact, the next morning after we received the disc, the software company called me.  They assigned me an account manger who asked if I had any questions about the medical billing services software.  I have to say that I am very pleasantly surprised and very grateful that I can now spend more time with my favorite patients.
